Mindful Madness

Pulled Dan's Motor and Tranny Good Friday

Well the time had finally arrived - Danny was chafing at the bit to make his car faster ever since I'd picked up mine. We'd already ordered him up a bunch of go fast goodies, and with 250,000km on the odometer, his tired pony was in desperate need of some freshening up.

We put the car in the garage and went to work. Let me say that bolts on a 17 year old car can be tough to remove!

Regardless we "Got 'er done", and now will await the machine work and little parts.

Here's some Before and After photos of Danny and the car.

BTW Dan, your car will never be as fast as mine.

Control Arm Install

Broke down today - fired up the Mustang and spun the tires from my house to my neighbour's driveway and back.

Bam! Up on jacks, rear tires off, and the control arm install was on! Pretty straightforward, spent a couple of hours working on the install.

I'm contemplating doing the rear disc conversion and changing the exhaust while it's all apart. NAH!

The rear end feels for solid, and plants quite well under load. A tad noisier than stock, but with stiffer bushings, that's to be expected.

Overall, good bang for the buck.

Here's some pics.

Getting Itchy to get the Mustang out

March 10 - The big freeze here in Ottawa Canada should soon be a thing of the past. Soon, the snow will disappear, and life will begin returning to normal.

I'm so stoked. I've been buying parts for my Mustang all winter now, and can't wait until it's warm enough to install them.

First, I bought a set of Steeda's full length subframe connectors, and a Steeda G-Trac brace. This is going to help greatly with the structural rigidity and frame integrity of the car. Then, I picked up a set of Granatelli tubular Upper and Lower control arms to help the rear end stay in place. After that, I found an awesome deal on a rear disc brake conversion kit. I can add some WHOA! to the GO! I'll be dropping the exhaust to put the control arms in, and when I do, the Bassani X-Pipe is going back under the car. The BBK sounds like crap compared to the raspy Bassani.

The motherload was struck a week ago - For months now, I've been oogling and drooling over Trick Flow Specialties Twisted Wedge aluminum heads. As any Mustang guy should know, the stock heads SUCK! I managed to buy a set of the heads, with a matched Camshaft, including TFS Roller Rockers, pushrods, lifters, and other goodies. It should be arriving within the week.

My dad is going to put them onto the car, and I'll port the stock lower intake while that's being done.

This car is going to be stupid fast in the next few months - I can't wait until I can get it onto the track.

Cisco and B.B. King - Together Again

Cin and I picked up B.B. yesterday evening for a weekend stay at our place. The fun began as soon as Cisco jumped into the truck and saw who was there!

At one point, they were both sharing the front seat. Weirdos. Regardless, the dog lovefest continues. Multiple crotch licks, and lipstick laps, followed by the sharing of a futon.

By Sunday, they were toast. Each lied on the floor in close proximity to another.

Fun times for all!!

Here's some dead Donkey pics.

Stupid $%@*&^ Pellet Stove

%$^^$^^# Pellet Stove has been heard spewing from my mouth for months now. The thing just wouldn't stay lit.

Bart the gizmo boy tried all the tricks in the book. Finally a call to a repairman ensued.

1/2 an hour later, and a shopvac full of ash where I thought ash couldn't possible get and presto!

Man it's running great now! Ahh, technology assists the premevial urge to burn. Could it get any better?

After 3 weeks, the thing is still running likeit's new. I love it!!
